About 100 years ago, a farmer’s wife who lived in North Zealand became interested in the art of cheesemaking. She traveled through Europe to learn the secrets of this craft, and upon her return, she began to experiment with her newly acquired techniques. She named her finest creation after her farm, “Havarthi”. Today’s Cream Havarti is a direct descendant of the original creation. It has an ivory interior patterned with a myriad of tiny holes and is mild, creamy, and mellow. Ours is made on Denmark’s Bornholm Island, also known as The Sunny Island, by the Bornholm Dairy under the St. Clements brand.

This outstanding gouda is carefully aged for 8 months and is hand selected by the master cheesemaker as an exceptional representation of his craft. Vintage Lot 8 is firm and smooth with some salty-sweet crystallization and deep caramel notes. At Dutch Cheese Makers they’ve taken the wisdom of over 125 years, the fine art of crafting masterful variations in flavor and texture, and the efficiencies of modern-day manufacturing to bring Dutch cheese making to a whole new level, and beyond.

Allgau Emmental Cheese

Bavarian Swiss Cheese…

Allgäu Emmental (or Allgäuer Emmentaler) is also referred to as Bavarian Swiss Cheese. One of the most famous German cheeses, it is not originally from Allgäu, but from the region of Emmental located in the Swiss canton of Bern, where it was crafted since the 1700’s. In 1821, the “Swiss method” was brought to the Allgäu for the first time by Josef Aurel Stadler.

Made from pure Bavarian milk, it is high in protein with a refined flavor. Our Bavarian Swiss has a rich, yellow color and large eyes. We recommend it sliced for sandwiches, cut in strips for Chef salads, or chunked for party platters.

Delicious Australian Cheddar Cheese

Inspired by and crafted on Australia’s beautiful and mesmerizing southern coast known as the Great Ocean Road, this Cheddar is proudly made with fresh local milk from pasture-fed cows and has a sweet, subtly earthy flavor. From fields with rich green grass and cool ocean air, this mellow Cheddar makes for the perfect snack or sandwich and pairs pleasantly with fruity red wines and sparkling white wines. Slice and serve with apple and pear slices. Shred and top soups, salads and pasta dishes. Perfect sliced in your favorite sandwich.
